Sun Block

I don't know how many times I stress about making sure you have sunblock. I'm so white, I don't tan, I burn. I learned early, the hard way, to always sun block every spot of skin I have. I didn't want my little girls to learn the hard way. The girls had sitters last Saturday and I was in such a hurry I didn't put sunblock on them. So I'm pissed at myself because I KNOW BETTER than to leave such a thing as important as that to someone else. I'm also pissed because I GAVE THE SITTERS the sunblock and reminded them to reapply. I also reminded them to MAKE SURE YOU GET THE TOPS OF THE EARS!!!

Both my girls (3 and 2 years old) are blistered, and lobster red. This is my 2 year old's ear.

I don't know how else I can say this:

PUT YOUR DAMN SUN BLOCK ON!!!

Ouch! You are preaching to the choir since I have had three skin cancer surgeries. I'm a sunblock fan:)

Oh no ! Those little ears...ouchie.

I recently attended a lecture on skin cancer and it really opened my eyes up to the damage and danger the sun the can do.

I would also like to add in, make sure you get an all over body skin check for cancer !!

Oh my gosh, her poor little ears!! I know you're beating yourself up, but no parent is perfect. We mess up. LOTS. When my daughter was a little under a month old, I took her outside just before sunset with her 2 big brothers to take their picture. We were only out there for a few min. The next morning she was so burnt. Her little face was beet red and her eyes were swollen shut. Scared the crap out of me. I felt horrible. Cried and cried. I took her to the ER and the dr. said it happens more than you'd think. Didn't make me feel better though. She finally healed and was fine thank God!

{{HUGS}} to you all!!

Oh those poor babies. Looks very painful. I used to worship the sun. But I said when I hit 40 that was it. Now I'm pale as light of the moon. And I'm very regretful of abusing my skin all those years for the sake of vanity.

Oh, your poor girls! I'm so sorry. :(

I watched that "Dear 16-Year Old Me" video on youtube a couple of weeks ago and it completely made me rethink how I've thought of the sun/tanning all these years. No more being glib about sunscreen for me!

I hope her ear heals ASAP!
