Evening Run

I'm not sure if it was because of the time of day I was able to get out on the running path, or if it was because my two year old kept me up AGAIN ALL NIGHT (or what felt like all night). But it was very difficult for me to get out tonight. No matter how I felt, I was determined. I told myself, "No, I don't want to run tonight, I'm tired. But I have to." And that's how I feel. It doesn't matter how much I DON'T want to do it. It still has to be done.

I got this pic from here

Now that I'm home, stretched out. I'm damn proud of myself. I even held onto a decent pace, well-for me. The first mile SUCKED. I was in the sun, and I was still feeling exhausted. Mile two felt a little cleaner. I don't really know how else to explain it. I was still heavy footed, but just felt more at ease. Then came mile 3. NICE!!! Got my second wind. Started to stretch my stride a little. It was a great feeling to walk in the door after the way I felt when I left.

So, what time of day is your favorite? Do you like to start off the day with exercise? Or do you like to end the day getting all your energy out? I know I used to like ending the day exercising. I would stretch, shower, and fall asleep fast. Now it seems I've totally reversed. I feel more energised, and ready to do more after I run.

I'd love to get my workouts done in the monrnings, but the morning is also the best time for writing, and writing wins over everything (even meditation, which I would desperately need for my sanity. But, I'd rather write than be sane...) - anyway, this means I usually worko ut after work, when I am really exhausted and in a bad mood. At least exercise helps with that one. And yes, everytim I *do* exercise, it is a win.

My brain and I battle daily, it doesn't want to work out but I tell it we must, You would think after almost a year of working out it would just be second nature and I wouldn't have to have such a battle with myself to do it?
I work out right after work, it's been working for me, I thought about doing it before work but I feel so wiped out after my work outs I'd be scared I'd be tired the rest of the day but thought about trying a morning owrk out just to see how I feel all day. I just hate getting up any earlier than I have too, Im a snooze kind of girl LOL

I like evenings because it's cooler, but I will take mid-morning to afternoon because my hubby can go with me and that makes for a nicer run...

Nice job getting out there and doing it! Exercising is always worth it. I'm actually trying to switch from running at 10 p.m. to running at 6 a.m., and it's hard. :)
