Toe Tappin Machine!

Ok, I'm sorry but I gotta admit. The best advise I got for helping to prevent shin splints has got to be to tap my toes. Since I've started tapping my toes, I haven't had any shin pain!! WAHOO!!! I tap my toes about 50 times once or twice a day, and I tap my toes right before I run to warm up. I have had no pain since!!! AWESOME!!!

I had another early morning run, and I loved it. I started off too fast, and I knew it would catch up to me, but I really didn't care. I felt great! I felt really good almost all the way through, but my time wouldn't show it. AND, I drove the exact distance, and I've been counting it as a half a mile to and from my house to the running path, when it's actual .85 miles. I also found out that one stretch of the running path is actually.6 miles instead of .5. SO, I'm counting that as a whole mile!!! The best part about this whole day is that I get to add ANOTHER 4 miles on my count! It's a great day, and it's only 9am!!

When I as taking a group strength training class at the gym I had an instructor who would now and then have us toe tap and boy did it hurt!

Awesome! keep up the good work I started tapping my feet at work after reading this to help build up that muscle in the front lol I would also suggest looking into diff shoes if the pain persists. I ran into the same thing when I first started running (not sure how long you have been doing it) I went and got some running shoes and haven't had the problem since!

Until recently, I didn't even realize there could be visible muscle in front of the shin... looks kind of funny, but you're right - no more pain!

Good for you! Glad you found a way to help combat the shin splints. I never had a problem with them when I was running for sports(back in HS), but anytime I step foot on a treadmill I get them almost instantaneously.
